History of the station
We started back in 2004...

November 2004
The idea is put to the LSDT
The Local Service Delivery Team was DMBC's monthly get-together for many organisations in the area. Community Radio was an idea put forward at that time to see if it could be done in the local area
January 2005
Sub-Committee
A communications sub-group was formed to discuss the idea and brought in a lot of interested parties.
February 2005

Project Officer

Through funding obtained via DMBC and NDC, a project officer was appointed to co-ordinate the project

April 2005

Premises

The group arranged to rent premises at 5 Finkle Court, which would be the home of TMCR for the next 21 months

May 2005

The Studio

The studio started to take shape with a custom built frame to keep the noise out, the music library was started and orders placed for the equipment

July 2005

Noises from within

Carefully moving the painter out of the way, the studio was fitted with the broadcast equipment and switched on for the first time, only two weeks before going live.

July 16th 2005

TMCR on 87.9FM

The transmitter roared into life and we started a 28 day run on the air. Ed MIliband MP officially opened the station.

 August 12th 2005

Closedown

It was over far too quickly, 4 weeks of broadcasts with a great team of people involved. One computer crash, which took us off the air for a while in the early hours of the final day

Since thenWe were open through to January 2007 at Finkle Court, although not every day, for training sessions and to plan the way forward.
